Janet Fanaki

Grief does not need to be limited to sadness. It can also be an opportunity to find purpose and help others be resilient too.

My name is Janet Fanaki. I am a 51 year old widow. My husband was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer a few years ago. I was his advocate and spoke openly about using grief as an opportunity to find your purpose and help others.

About Janet Fanaki

I am a former public relations specialist who worked with large organizations like IBM and St. Michael's Hospital in downtown Toronto. When my husband was diagnosed with glioblastoma, I decided to start interviewing people who are admired for their resilience. My website RESILIENT PEOPLE shares the stories of EXTRAordinary people who have experienced something challenging and bounced back to help others be resilient too. I want to motivate people into believing that they can overcome anything.

Finding your resilience

Everyone has a story to tell. Everyone has experienced something challenging and life-changing but how many can say they have helped others along the way?

Finding purpose through grief

I lost my husband to an aggressive brain cancer at 51 years old. I believe that grief offers us an opportunity to learn from our loss and find a purpose for a new chapter.
