King Willem-Alexander addresses the country tonight at 7 p.m. on the corona crisis. How special is it that the king does that and can it make people take the advice of the government more seriously? On Monday, Prime Minister Rutte gave a speech on the coronavirus. This made him the first Prime Minister since 1973 to do so. The last time the king addressed us is more recent, after the MH17 disaster in 2014. King Willem-Alexander will be speaking tonight about the corona crisis "This actually always happens in the event of a major disaster," communication specialist Donatello Piras told EditieNL. "For example, the Bijlmer disaster and the fireworks disaster."
