De Jager has always had an entrepreneurial mindset. He started his first company named Spectra Vision during his student time. Spectra Visions focused on one of the first digital consumer interaction solutions ever made. Later on, when innovation exceeded, they became one of the leading e-commerce companies in the Netherlands, which they are until today. Because of his innovative and entrepreneurial mind he was asked for the Innovation platform and later on as State Secretary and Minister of Finance.
